After a very successful meeting of 320 people (with as many apologies from people who could not attend) "CANINE ALLIANCE ... Responsible for Pedigree Dogs" is born. The democratically elected steering committee consists of (in alphabetical order): Andrew Brace, Joy Bradley, Lisa Croft-Elliott, Phil Freer, Michael Gadsby, Steve Hall, Robert Harlow (secretary), Stuart Mallard, Howard Ogden, Dianna Spavin, Tony Taylor, Sue Whitehead, Sigurd Wilberg & Martin Wyles.
Those attending contributed £4,570 to the support fund and the PayPal account has in excess of £1,000 donated from absentee supporters.
Tomorrow the approved proposals will be forward to the Kennel Club and will be posted when I have the exact wording confirmed.
The degree of solidarity amongst those present was amazing and I would like to personally thank everyone who attended and who has supported our endeavours. Hopefully we will be able to move things forward now by advising the Kennel Club of the feelings of the grass roots, ever mindful of the health and welfare of our pedigrees.
It is hoped to have a meeting next week to discuss constitution etc., and to elect officers.
Special thanks to our many helpers on the night.
Here's to the future, and to change for the good of dogs!
